What does Biological Age mean? What do age scores mean?

Biological age is the age your body is, internally, which may be different than how old you are based on your birthday. It is a well-researched estimate and is associated with risk for age-related conditions or diseases. The Biological Age test calculates an estimated biological age and other organ, or system ages based on your biomarker values and how they compare to hundreds of thousands of other values in our database. As a male or female, you are compared to others of your sex and within a similar chronological age range. Your score does not predict lifespan. And no matter your age results – higher or lower than chronological age – we recommend you review your results with your healthcare practitioner and discuss your health history, diet and supplement recommendations, further testing options, or lifestyle practices before starting anything new.

How do I update my health profile information to further customize the recommendations I receive?

Your health profile can be updated by going into your profile and clicking on the Health Profile section to make the desired changes. Similarly, each time you do a test, you will be asked to update your Health Profile with any changes since doing it last.

Can I share my test results with my health-care practitioner?

Of course. We encourage you to share your test results with your health-care practitioner. There are two ways you can do this:
  1. If your health-care practitioner is in the Thorne provider network, then simply go to your test results and click “Share.”
  2. Print your results to share with your health-care practitioner.

How do I see my results?

When your test results are ready, we will email you a link to access your results by logging onto the Thorne dashboard.  You can also access your test results by logging into your account on thorne.com and clicking the top right profile icon featuring either a picture that you uploaded or a placeholder image.  After you click on your profile icon, there will be a “Test Results” tab that you can click on to access your results. Please note: your results will not be available to view until your health profile is complete.

What should I expect after I send in my test samples?

On average, your results will be available to you in 5-7 business days from the date the laboratory receives your sample. In addition to your biomarker results, you will also receive insights about what your results mean. And you will receive a personalized plan for diet, activity, and supplement recommendations.

Can I rely on the accuracy of my test results and recommendations?

Thorne partners with the nation’s leading laboratories, and only with laboratories that are CLIA-certified or CAP-certified. These certifications validate that the laboratories have met the standards needed to provide accurate results.
The recommendations generated from Onegevity Health Intelligence platform are medically-supervised, proprietary algorithms and are based on clinical validation. Each recommendation is backed by medical literature, and we list the relevant references and citations.
Although Thorne offers you our interpretation of your results – and although a physician reviews all results – we do not make any diagnoses. We always recommend you consult with your health-care practitioner if you have any concerns regarding your results.
If you have any questions regarding the accuracy of your results, please contact us.
