Bacillus Coagulans

About Bacillus Coagulans

Stable, spore-forming probiotic that supports GI function and bowel regularity.*

Bacillus coagulans (also known as Lactobacillus sporogenes) is a lactic acid-producing bacteria that promotes GI function and bowel regularity.* It is unique in probiotic supplementation because this beneficial bacteria is dormant in the bottle but reverts to a growing bacteria in the intestines.* As a result, it resists being killed by stomach acid; in contrast, many Lactobacillus probiotics lose much of their potency before use and do not survive their transit through the stomach.

The Thorne Difference

Unlike many Lactobacillus probiotics, Bacillus coagulans is heat stable and resistant to stomach acid. The MTCC 5856 strain is also supported by clinical research and has been granted GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status by the FDA.
