About Boswellia Phytosome

Also known as Indian frankincense-lecithin complex (or -phospholipid complex)

Boswellia phytosome is an extract of Boswellia gum resin that has been complexed with phospholipids to improve its absorption. Clinical studies show that Boswellia phytosome supports a healthy inflammatory response in the respiratory tract and the GI tract, as well as in joints, muscles, and tendons.* Boswellia phytosome contains a full spectrum of six potent boswellic acids: 11-keto-β-boswellic acid (KBA), acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA), β-boswellic acid (β-BA), acetyl-β-boswellic acid (Aβ-BA), β -boswellic acid (β-BA), and acetyl- β -boswellic acid (Aβ BA).

The Thorne Difference

Casperome® from Indena, the developers of phytosome technology, is a patented form of Boswellia extract that has enhanced absorption. Boswellia’s absorption is enhanced by complexing it with phospholipids to create a phytosome. Absorption studies show 2-4 times higher serum levels of various boswellic acids compared to the same Boswellia extract not complexed with phospholipids. In addition, the Boswellia phytosome was absorbed 1.5-2 hours faster for all boswellic acids compared with Boswellia not bound to phospholipids. Casperome has been the subject of numerous clinical trials.
